Connect your TP-link router with other hardware – wired tplink setup

  • Remove the modem from power source or backup battery.
  • Setup connection between the modem and TP-link wifi router at router’s Internet port using an Ethernet cable.
  • Connect the modem back to power, and allow it to restart.
  • Also, connect your TP-link router to the power source and turn it on.

After TP-link router setup, configure your router for managing its settings for security of router and its wireless network. TP-Link setup in Access Point mode

  • Connect your computer to a available second LAN port on your TP-Link N router using an Ethernet cable.

  • Access the Network on TP-link routers web interface and select LAN option.
  • Change the LAN IP address of your TP-Link N router to default IP address on the same segment of the main TPlink router.
  • Address a reboot on TP-link N router and log into the TP-Link N router with the new IP address.
  • Access the Wireless Settings to configure the SSID (Network name) to be same or different from the main routers.
  • Also, allow configuration of the wireless security options by selecting WPA/WPA2-Personal as the most secure option.
  • Access the DHCP Settings further to Disable the DHCP Server.
  • Reboot your computer following the above settings.
  • Finally, connect your main TP-link router to your TP-Link N router at any LAN ports using Ethernet cable.

The TP-link router setup in access point mode will complete and all other LAN ports on your TP-Link N router will thereby grant Internet access to computer or other devices.

Tplink login

TP-Link Router Login is gateway to the web-based management page of TP-Link routers, also called web based utility. It is an inbuilt internal web display program that does not require any internet access, but, it does require your computer or other device to be connected to the TP-Link router.  The hardware connection can either be wired, wireless or over WPS as mentioned above to be able to log into the management page via tplinkwifi.net login.   • Direct to the Management tab on your web utility page
  • Tap or click on the Access Control option.
  • Opt for the Password option to change the TP-link login password.
  • Key in old password in given empty space and then reassign a new TP-link login password.
  • In another field, re-enter the new TP-link login password for verification.
  • Press Save/Apply to save the changed password.
How to change the password of the TP-Link WiFi Network
  • Log into the web based utility/Admin Panel of your TP-Link Router using tplinkwifi.net or default IP http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1. (Use the TPlinklogin steps explained earlier on this page).
  • On the TP-link router’s admin interface, go to Wireless tab.
  • Select the Wireless Security option to access wireless security encryption WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK section.
  • The wireless settings page will display with wireless network name/SSID and wireless network password fields.
  • In the given PSK Password field, input your new Wi-Fi Password.
  • Save the changes made to complete the password change of the TP-Link Wi-Fi Network
  • Allow reboot of your TP-link wifi router.

What to do if I am unable to log into web-based interface of my TP-Link router

TP-link wifi routers allow the web-based interface to configure the product after TPlinklogin using tplinkwifi.net default gateway. But, sometimes configuring your router becomes a hurdle as you are unable to log into the web based interface at the initial TP-link setup even after successfully connected to the internet. Try following the steps here to access TP-link router web utility:

 

  • Check if the wired/physical connections between your end-device and the TP-Link router using Ethernet connection are secure.
  • Ensure the LAN/Ethernet LED is stable lit indicating secure connection; else try different Ethernet ports or cables for TP-link setup.
  • Allow TPlink login to the Web-based Interface through default domain name tplinkwifi.net.
  • If tplinkwifi.net is not accessible or failing to reach web interface, try default IP Address.
  • Make sure you entered correct TP-link router login details.
  • Reset your TP-Link router into default settings to allow default tplink login to web interface.

 

  • Restart your router by pushing the power off and on as this can simply resolve the login issue.
